I wrote this tune some years back with the military in mind. There was potential for my brother to be sent overseas at the time, and I wanted to write a song that conveyed the real passion and purpose felt by those willing to sacrifice everything. It brought some peace to me, knowing that if he had gone to fight, he was doing so with a desire to serve and protect all of us back home.

If you are a veteran or active military, let this song be a testament to my gratitude for you. I can't imagine what your lives must be like having to make the countless sacrifices you do. You are appreciated and loved.

If you know a veteran, take the time to shake their hand and thank them for their service. It doesn't matter if you agree with the political situation surrounding war or not. The bottom line is that in moments of fear, when lives are at stake, these individuals took an oath to step up and fight for us. That is something to be both honored and admired.
